On 4 February 2008, the German research icebreaker Polarstern called into the port of Cape Town, ending a successful 2-month expedition to the Weddell Sea. The expedition was a joint project of CeDAMar and CAML (Census of Antarctic Marine Life) in the framework of the International Polar Year.  Check the eXpeditions site for a daily logbook, written by all participants, to get many personal insights into scienice and day-to-day life.
